The weather may be erratic right now but that summer heat wave is going to hit us when we least expect it. It’s very easy to forget to take care of our skin in the summer. After all, winter dryness is a thing of the past. However, this doesn’t mean we get a pass when it comes to skincare and even in summer we should always be taking the necessary measures to protect our skin. Here are a few tips and tricks…
- Always wear sunscreen, even on cloudy days. The sun has a lot of power and even though it may not look warm and you may not be able to feel any heat, the rays are still there. In fact, cloudy humid days are often when people burn during summer because they presume that the sun is non-existent simply because they can’t see or feel it.
- Stay away from tanning beds! We all want a beautiful golden tan during summer, however tanning beds are a proven cause of skin cancer and can do just as much damage as the sun. For the perfect glow to kick off summer, try opting for a natural spray tan or a tanning moisturiser. It is safer and less damaging for your skin because it won’t dry it out.
- Drink plenty of water. During summer, we will lose more fluids as a result of excessive perspiration and we must actively seek to replace it. In fact, drinking enough water will not only keep you hydrated but it will also do wonders for your skin! Adequately hydrated skin is not only safer but it is free from toxins too!
